manning an empty fort

suddenly, i'm not used to coming home to a completely empty apartment anymore. spanky is back in queens. and it's become a lil too quiet around here again. as much as he was a lil too hyper for me, i miss the company. especially now that tim's staying in fair lawn while he still doesn't have a car.

on a related note, i realized this morning that i really like waking up next to someone i love. despite the lack of sleep, coming home late from the alicia keys concert and waking up early to be at work on time, waking up next to him makes the day a whole lot better.

i used to think that living together ruins marriage in the sense that there is a tendency for either party to become complacent and too comfortable with the whole situation that neither one will find the point in "a piece of paper". but i've been getting into conversations about it lately with a bunch of my friends and it's starting to slowly look like the smart thing to do. that's how you know what you're really getting yourself into--finding out whether or not you like his lil quirks. and waking up next to him this morning is contributing to my wavering stand. it was nice. and i liked it.

if only it made sense.

it's nice to think about, sure. but for now, having just the weekends together is working out just fine.=)
