*radio static* the eagle is on the move *radio static*

finally had time to come down from cloud 9 and write about my weekend in dc. haha.. it's actually been a while since i wrote a detailed play-by-play entry. i've just been so used to keeping everything vague. but i should really get back to writing the nitty gritty of it. this IS supposed to be "getting lost in mayhem". lol.

anyway, ellis and i hadn't meant to crash in on tim and adela's weekend (they planned this long before we thought of going to dc, upon the recommendation of rachel ray. haha). but the call of the photo opp at the cherry blossom festival was just too loud to ignore.
we had underestimated the weather though. it was still too chilly. and we both didn't bring enough clothes for the cold. THAT and we had made dinner reservations at this fancy restaurant oya for 7:30p.m. we ran out of time, and never made it to the other side of the washington monument where most of the cherry blossom trees were in full bloom. boo. the food was amazing at oya though. and we ended up enjoying the kite festival and the air and space museum instead. even had a chance to fly our own kite!

the last two photos were taken by ellis. that was at the air and space museum, while the other one was our attempt at putting the kite together. it took us a while to get the kite ready. but ellis figured it out. in adela's words, "he comes in handy." haha..

on sunday, we hitched with ellis back to philly for some cheesesteaks. to this day, i still don't have pictures at pat's king of steaks. i've been there a few times already but i keep forgetting to take the camera out. i guess the footlong cheesesteaks oozing with cheese whiz are just sooo good that taking pictures slips my mind. lol..

on the way to philly though, we all had a crazy time in the car. the ipod was on shuffle and the boyzIImen hit "i'll make love to you" came on. tim basically just went nuts.

ahh, the things we do on long rides back.. tsk tsk tsk. :-p

it's a shame the weekend flew by so quickly. the train ride back to ny felt like such a downer. i wasn't looking forward to another week being holed up at the apartment. i kept hearing the anberlin line go, "i wanna break every clock. the hands of time could never move again. we could stay in this moment for the rest of our lives," over and over again in my head. but sadly, the weekend had to come to an end.

it might be a while before i can go on one of these weekend getaways again. funds are getting low. i need to find a job first (yes, everything is still up in the air :-/). but i'm not too worried. i usually have a good gut feel for these things. and it feels like i'll be on the move again soon.

*keeping my fingers crossed*
