as "prestigious" as it seems working for the UN, my job is anything but prestigious. haha.. i'm not going to pretend i'm doing something great like saving a third-world country or bridging gaps between conflicting nations, though i'd like to believe i play a really small role (think minute) in it.
my job is pretty routinary. so it gets boring quick. but it's routinary enough that it lets me enjoy my music without having to think about making mistakes or getting fazed with the amount of work on my desk.
i recently downloaded a lot of stuff i used to listen to back in college (which includes jason mraz, early john mayer, some old mariah, ari hest, songs that howie day covered, POT, etc). i left a lot of this old music back home and i'd been craving something poppy and fun (which definitely helps in the workplace). i need a break from the melancholic singer-songwriters. haha..
today i had mr. a-z singing to me on loop. i had a lil falling out with the geek in the pink a while back but i ended up downloading random jason mraz songs and ended up falling back in love with him when i heard "i'm yours" and "wordplay". he really is the wizard of ooh's and ahh's and fa-la-la's. they're just really witty, well-written, fun songs that you can't help but feel upbeat no matter how mediocre your life seems to be at the moment.
they're such feel-good songs that i actually got into a groove and didn't realize i had gone half an hour into overtime work. haha.. check out the lyrics for "i'm yours"** and "wordplay".
