morning rush

**written on march 28, 2008. at 9:15 in the morning.**

i'm sitting on one of those benches in the waiting area of the new york penn station, waiting for the train to trenton where i'll be transferring onto a septa to philly. and there's definitely something about watching people at rush hour that puts me in a trance (to the point that i missed two trains that i could've taken already).

everybody has a story. there's that korean girl from la salle visiting her bf from nyu. there's mr. ceo, decked out in a crisp suit, rushing off to mistress number 2 (mistress number 1 has a photo shoot in milan this weekend and isn't available for monkey business). there's a restless kid sitting next to me who looks like he just ran away from home.

as i sit here, i know they must be making speculations about me too. "there's that lil asian kid whose parents are divorced and is on her way to visit her father in dc." or "hey, what's this kid doing all alone with suitcase in hand? could she be heading back to uni now that spring break's over? she's in uni?? she can't be older than 16!"

i know we can never claim to know people just by looking at them. but who's to say we can't get a good story out of it? oh boy.. that's how rumors get started. lol..

watching people at rush hour makes for good writing material. now, if only i can get to actually writing it.

anyway, heading off to dc. see you around!
